busy days!

Wow it has been a while since I updated the blog. I tend to not want to update while Ron is working because our Internet can be dicey. It slows things down when I upload pictures and such so I try not to do it too much during the work week, this leaves weekends which lately have been non-existent! We have been running hard for the last two months. Ron is gone to Chicago today and tomorrow so I feel like I can take the risk of slowing things down.
Faith and her littlest pets which doesn't include Aaron!

Miss Girl turns 10!
This year so far has kept us hopping! We went to a bible quiz tournament in Pittsburgh, lots of fun and we got to see our good friends Jessica and James Lynch. We also got to have Jonathan come and stay with us, the boys are having a lot of fun together and we are really enjoying having the extra fun in the house. With quiz being split into two separate weekends, teen one weekend and junior on another and then attending 2 tournaments, one for teen and one for jbq we have been quizzing every weekend. The up-side of this is that both Ron and I can be involved in teen and jbq. I got to quiz master at the last jbq meet for the novice quizzers, it was fun- and the kids are really cute.

John looking forward to cake!

We are involved in a small group at church that meets after church on Sunday. We have lunch (we decide the week before what the them is- next week soup!) and then watch a series called The Truth Project. The series is put out by Focus on the Family and I highly recommend it. All of the small groups at church are participating in the series including the High School group. We are having fun getting to know some new people in the church and two of the families in our small group are in quiz with us.

Every chance the kids get they are out playing street hockey.

The older kids are all involved in the youth group here. Our youth pastor left to be a senior pastor in Pennsylvania so the decision was made to have a group of youth leaders oversee the youth group. James is one of the leaders and Mary helps to lead worship for the group. We have been blessed by the Wimmers in Junior High small group. Sam, John, and David are really enjoying Miss Jessie's sense of humor!

James and David, cool dudes.

The kids are still in band and of course it seems that every time I have to drive to Grand Rapids there is weather. I've decided not to call it bad weather, just weather. Speaking of weather, we enjoyed what can only be described as a hint of spring last week. The temperature was in the high 40's to high 50's, it was kind of hard to watch them drop and to see a couple inches of snow hit on Saturday. It is supposed to snow again tomorrow, Thursday and again on Saturday but now that I've seen that hint of spring we are excited to know that this too will end! It will be followed by a different kind of weather I'm sure. Thomas is already looking forward to baseball.

School is going well. The kids are taking advantage of the library at the Home School Building and all of them are reading a lot. Faith has discovered Nancy Drew and looks forward to getting a new book when we go to band class. Aaron reads the Illustrated classics and recently finished The Three Musketeers. I bring home books for James too as he's finally got the time to read as much as he likes. The library is well stocked with classics and James has been enjoying the selection.

Frank and Rusty on their morning walk!

I hope to get this blog updated more, even if it is just pictures!
